【2025 Surein Foundation's 7th Anniversary: Environmental Keynotes Speech and Presentation Ceremony 】
Surein Foundation celebrated its 7th Anniversary on Saturday 22 Feb 2025 by presenting scholarships and prizes, preceded by a keynote speech by the Chairman of the Environmental Affairs Panel, Legislative Council, Hong Kong.
The Ceremony was held at the Empire Centre, 68 Mody Road, Kowloon, attended by 220 people. They comprised members of the public, government officials, NGO representatives, university, secondary primary schools students and their parents.
Mr Tam Yiu Chung, GBM, GBS, JP, Vice-President of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong and Macau Studies, and Hon Edward Lau Kwok Fan, MH, JP, Chairman of the Environmental Affairs Panel, Legislative Council, Hong Kong SAR, were officiating guests. Mr Edward Lau also presented a keynote speech on the theme of “Legislating Environmental Laws and Their Implementation.” They then presented prizes and scholarships to over 60 winners of the Foundation’s environmental education competitions 2024.
The Foundation was honoured by the strong support from two heads of government departments: Mr David Wong JP, Director of Intellectual Property Department, and Ms Apollonia Lee, Director of Government Information Services Department. On behalf of the Foundation, they presented certificates of appreciation to 20 Volunteers, and representative of NGOs who had been jointly providing environmental education services with Surein Foundation in Hong Kong.
The Ceremony finished with a fund-raising luncheon which ended at 2 pm.
