About
Themes: Marine Conservation and Care for the Ocean
Purposes: Through colouring and drawing competitions, the public are encouraged to pay attention to marine conservation and care for the ocean, and protection of precious marine resources.

A【Drawing Competition】
Sectors:
(1) Lower Primary School -- Primary 1 to 3 Pupils
(2) Upper Primary School / Lower Secondary School – Primary 4 to Secondary 3 Students
(3) Upper Secondary School – Secondary 4 to 6 Students
(4) Open Sector -- Tertiary Institution Students, Members of the public
*The basis of sectoring participants is the grades they will be attending in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Guidelines and contents:
a) The artwork can be on paper or canvas. The maximum size is A3, and orientation can be either landscape or portrait.
b) Any type of paint or colouring material is allowed, in colour or black and white.
c) The artwork must reflect the theme of ocean conservation and care for the ocean.
d) To ensure fairness, the artwork must be hand-drawn. Computer-aided work is not accepted.
e) The artwork must be original. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Submission method:
a) Please download the "Joining Form" and fill it out.
b) After completing the Form, please scan or photograph the artwork done, save it as a JPEG file, and then send it via email to <info@sf.org.hk>.
c) The submitted artwork must be in the JPEG format, the maximum size shall be 10MB.
d) Each participant can only submit one piece of artwork. Please keep the original for exhibition.
e) Schools may submit students’ artworks together with individually signed "Joining Form" via email.
Deadline: The deadline is 20 September 2024 (as per the email date).
Adjudication:
a) An Adjudication Panel comprising experts from the public will be formed.
b) The selection criteria shall include: contents, creativity, colouring and artistic skills.
c) The basis of sectoring participants is the grades they will be attending in the 2024-2025 academic year.

B【Colouring Competition】
Sector: Kindergarten Category - (Children from various grades in a kindergarten. Work may be with the help of parents/guardians).
*The basis of sectoring participants is the grades they will be attending in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Guidelines and contents:
a) Please download the "base sheet provided colouring", print it (A3 or A4 size), and complete the colouring.
b) Children: Responsible for colouring. Lines and contents may be modified on the colouring sheet to enhance awareness of "marine conservation and care for the ocean" – (80%).
c) Parents: Provide a message of no more than 40 words at the bottom of the colouring sheet, to enhance the children’s awareness of "marine conservation and care for the ocean" — (20%).
Submission method:

a) Winners will be informed individually by email or phone.
b) Results will be announced at the Surein Foundation website in the 4th quarter of 2024.

First Prize: A certificate and Scholarship of HK$500.
Second Prize: A certificate and Scholarship of HK$300.
Third Prize: A certificate and Scholarship of HK$200.

Lower Primary School Sector
First Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$500.
Second Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$400.
Third Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$300.
Merit Prizes (several): A certificate and a souvenir.
Upper Primary School/Lower Secondary School Sector
First Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$1000.
Second Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$700.
Third Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$500.
Merit Prizes (several): A certificate and a souvenir.
Upper Secondary School Sector
First Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$1200.
Second Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$1000.
Third Prize: A certificate and scholarship of HK$800.
Merit Prizes (several): A certificate and a souvenir.
Open Sector
First Prize: A certificate and cash prize of HK$3000.
Second Prize: A certificate and cash prize of HK$2000.
Third Prize: A certificate and cash prize of HK$1000.
Merit Prizes (several): A certificate and a souvenir.
Exhibition of Winning Works: Surein Foundation may publicly exhibit the winning artworks on website and during the Foundation's 6th-anniversary award ceremony. Details will be announced.
Matters for Attention:
1. Artworks received will not be returned.
2. Artworks must be original and must not infringe upon any individual or group's intellectual property rights (including but not limited to copyrights and trademarks). Participants will be disqualified if found to be in violation, and they will bear all legal responsibilities.
3. Computer-aided work is not accepted.
4. Surein Foundation may reproduce, publish, print, and exhibit the submitted artworks through any media without seeking the participants' consent or paying any fees.
5. The final decision on competition results rests with the Surein Foundation.
