Surein Foundation Holds Cheque Presentation Ceremony for Awardees of Environmental Scholarships 2025

On 28 August 2025, Surein Foundation held a cheque presentation ceremony to honour the 2025 Environmental Scholarships Awardees at its Wan Chai office. Presided over by the Chairman and Members of the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee and attended by the Foundation’s directors, the ceremony was simple and cordial.
Scholarships have been established by Surein Foundation since 2021 to recognise students in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, who have demonstrated excellence in research and studies, and in promotion of sustainable development.
The scholarships awarded include:
• Surein Foundation (Loveramics) Environmental Education Scholarship (HK$10,000 shared by five students based on merits). The awardees are Choi Serena Kai Xin (The University of Hong Kong), Yip Ka Kit (Lingnan University), Eunice Onyiyechi Aaron-Smith (Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong), Chen Ningkang (The University Of Hong Kong) and Lam Kam Yan Grace (Diocesan Girls’ School).



· Surein Foundation (Build King) Environmental Construction Scholarship (HK$10,000), awarded to XU Lili (The University of Hong Kong).

· Surein Foundation Environmental Education Study-Trip Scholarship (total of HK$10,000 shared by two students – Eunice Onyiyechi Aaron-Smith (Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong) and Cheung Man Yi (The University of Hong Kong).


· Surein Foundation Environmental Leadership Training Scholarship (HK$50,000, awarded to the winning team from Queen's College Old Boys' Association Secondary School).

ince 2021, Surein Foundation has set up scholarships in Hong Kong’s universities, secondary and primary schools, encouraging academic research in sustainability, STEAM studies and sponsoring functions on environmental protection. In addition, non-school-based scholarships are established for open applications by schools and students, thereby nurturing green talents. These open scholarships cover a wide range of areas and disciplines, including sustainability education, green building and construction technology, overseas study exchanges on the themes of safe food production and biodiversity, and sustainable leadership training and development.
This Cheque Presentation Ceremony was conducted for the Non-School-Based scholarships. The School-Based Scholarships are managed by the respective institutions themselves.
At the ceremony, Mr. James Kwan Yuk Choi, JP, Chairman of the Surein Foundation Scholarships Committee, complimented and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winning students and schools.
The scholarship winners are from different academic backgrounds and various institutions, including postgraduate students from The University of Hong Kong, undergraduate of Lingnan University, students from Diocesan Girls’ School, and Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong.
Formal Scholarship Certificates will be presented at the Surein Foundation’s 8th Anniversary Ceremony on 31 January 2026.
Surein Foundation will expand its scholarship programmes in the field of environmental social governance for future leaders of Hong Kong.
