A 3-day 2-night residential eco-living tour, organised by Surein Foundation for the HK Network for the Promotion of Inclusive Society, was held from March 27 to 29, 2026 at Surein Green Farm, Xinxing, Yunfu City, Guangdong.

A total of 23 participants, including the visually-impaired, hearing-impaired persons (the “mang” (blind) and the “loong” (deaf) which, in Chinese characters, sounded like “fearless” and “dragon”) and volunteers, took part. They enjoyed a relaxing green lifestyle in an undulating  farming environment.

On Day 1, the Group checked into Surein Lodge, a 4-storey accommodation which enabled members to experience the Farm’s tranquillity. Occasional squally showers, typical of Ching Ming weathers, were no deterrents. In the evening, the welcome reception enabled the vision and missions of Surein Foundation and Surein Green Farm to be shared.

Activities in Day 2 focused on culture and eco-farming practice. Participants tasted and smelt different medicinal plants grown in the Chinese Herbal Garden. They were briefed the traditional Chinese cultural of “food as medicine”. The Fearless Dragons planted a tree, in support of Surein Foundation’s green lifestyles.

The highlight of Day 2 was the Fearless Dragon Farm Run, a relaxed jog along the 2 km Farm tracks. Some 25 Fearless Dragon runners jogged together with teams formed by villagers and students in Lidong County. After the competitions, the Fearless Dragons presented sports wears to their counterparts as tokens of sportsmanship. Farming activities ensued. They included making composts with horse manure, making enzyme fertilizers with fruit and vegetable wastes, and hands-on work in fruits picking, as well as planting seedlings of rice paddy. They watched a demonstration of Tieguanyin tea-making using tea-leaves picked from the Farm’s tea plantations. They reached the top of the tea-planting areas where the Queenly Benevolence Pavilion, fit for enjoying sunset, was sited.

On Day 3,  Before heading back home to Hong Kong after lunch, the Fearless Dragons had a good time befriending with farm animals --  horses, goats, poultry, and visiting the fish pond ecosystem – a really good way to appreciate biodiversity.

This tour was not only a journey of environmental and cultural living but also a fit illustration of inclusive live-styles. Functions were executed at a comfortable and steady pace, accommodating the needs of individuals of different needs. The core concepts of sustainable living was tried through hands-on experiences.
