From 30 March to 1 April 2026, Surein Green Farm in Xinxing, the service platform of Surein Foundation Hong Kong, greeted the principal, teachers and students of The Assn. of Directors & Former Directors of Pok Oi Hospital Ltd. Leung Sing Tak College, supported by Broad C Ltd., Y’s Men Club Of NWNT, and OISCA HK. The 30 participants as a whole embarked on a unique and meaningful “Leung Sing Tak Uniformed Teams Exploration Farming Camp”.

The Uniformed teams (Scouts, Red Cross Youth Units, Junior Police Call, and St John Ambulance Brigade Youth Command) were led by Principal Chik Man Hin and teachers. They travelled direct from Shenzhen to Surein Green Farm in Xinxing. The three-day, two-night residential camp was full and intensive. In the first two days, six competitions --Inter-city orienteering, Food Homology & Chinese Medicine orienteering, enzyme fertiliser making, round-the-Farm relay race, and an environmental quiz, were organised and conducted. As the 4 teams finished with equal scores, the winner was decided only after the Campsite Bonfire Talent Show – with the Red Cross Youth team securing the first place.

The parallel eco farming explorations were equally vibrant. Students went into the fields to pick Tieguanyin tea sprouts. At Surein Green Farm’s Tea Manufactory, they watched artisans transform fresh leaves into “fly-head, frog-leg” shaped Tieguanyin tea through a ten-step process. They also planted seedlings in the paddy fields, picked plums and mulberries on the hillsides, learned how to clean horses in the stables, and feed goats in the hilly goat farm.

On Day 3, students visited the Xinxing oldtown, with expert briefings by Mr Chi, a county bureau chief of culture, sports and tourism. They visited archaeological sites (Jin to Yuan / Ming dynasties) in the Zhongshan Park, the Xincheng Christian Church, the Tudi Temple, and a nearby pedestrian precinct. Students have deepened their understanding of Xinxing’s rich cultural heritage.

The exploration camp not only enabled students to practise a green lifestyle but also helped them learn discipline, develop a sense of responsibility, and sharpen their environmental awareness.

This function was the 9th one organised by Surein Foundation in 2026. It will sustain green education and provide a meaningful environmental platform for young people.

In the evening of Day 1, an eco lifestyle quiz was held in the multi-purpose function Hall.
